Is Remedy preparing Alan Wake's return? The studio registered a familiar name

Remedy has filed a new trademark application for "Alan Wake's Return," and while the studio remains silent about its purpose, the expanded list of goods fuels rumors of a new game or adaptation.

Remedy Entertainment has registered the trademark "Alan Wake's Return," once again sparking rumors about the series' return, although the purpose of the new registration has not yet been disclosed.

Control Resonant is set to be released next week, and Remedy, it seems, is not going to delay the universe's development for long. The studio registered the name "Alan Wake's Return," which it had already used in 2016. At that time, Sam Lake explained that it was not about a new game, but about a series of video materials in Quantum Break.

This time, the situation is different: the previous registration expired in early September, after which Remedy did not renew it, but filed a new application with expanded information. They removed the toy category, added printed materials and clothing, and expanded the list of digital content and products.

This has led to speculation about a connection to the Alan Wake and Control adaptation, which Remedy is developing with Annapurna. However, a new game cannot be completely ruled out. "Alan Wake's Return" does not yet confirm the development of Alan Wake 3 – the studio has not disclosed the purpose of the trademark.
