Thanks to The Big Summer Warhammer Preview Show 2026 event, fans of the Blood Bowl board game learned that Games Workshop plans to release the "Night Goblins" team.
Night Goblins are known for their maniacal laughter, obsession with mushrooms, and use of lunar iconography. These insane creatures have malicious and bouncy friends.
We are talking about four new positions: Cave Squigs, Squig Herders, Squig Hoppers, and Squig Handlers. The set includes two players of each of these positions, as well as six Line Night Goblins. Naturally, Line Goblins will not dominate the field, but they are hard to catch thanks to the "Dodge" and "Stunty" skills (plus they are hard to get away from due to "Foul Appearance" and "Shadowing").
Cave Squigs and Squig Hoppers have the "Pogo Stick" skill, which makes them very mobile, but Squig Herders should be kept close so they don't succumb to "Squig Frenzy". Squig Handlers are players with ST7 strength and the "Chain Ball" skill.
Night Goblins are a fun and colorful team that brings many new possibilities to the Blood Bowl field. As with any Stunty team, they will need a skilled and lucky coach to get the most out of them.
The rules for such a team can be found in the upcoming 23rd issue of "Spike!" magazine. It is also filled with information about the history of the Night Goblins team, including the legendary "Eight Peaks Psychos", rules for the malicious mushroom and squig-bat balls that come with the team, a guide for coaches, and all the regular columns.
