GTA VI is already being "played" on PC - modders launched the leaked map inside GTA V

Several years ago, Rockstar Games was subjected to a hacker attack. At that time, materials related to various studio projects, including the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI, were leaked online. It seemed that all materials had been released then, but recently almost 200 GB more files were published.

Researchers found not only materials related to unreleased add-ons for GTA V but also a prototype map of Grand Theft Auto VI. This version dates back to 2015.

Modders have already managed to port the GTA VI map to the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V and started playing. In this prototype, you can drive cars and fly. At that time, many buildings did not have full textures, but overall, the general layout of the city is already visible. Most of the map resembles Google Maps-style shots, as vegetation is practically absent, and the earth's surface is represented by basic "blurry" textures.

Due to copyright, we cannot demonstrate this GTA VI map here, however, user Synaptic (@Synaptic_UK) is actively uploading lengthy gameplay recordings to the social network X. As of this publication, he has not received DMCA strikes, and the videos are actively discussed in the gaming community.

It is obvious that over the past years, some elements of the city may have changed, so in November, when Grand Theft Auto VI is released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, players will see different versions of the locations.
