Owners of powerful PCs will likely have to get used to the fact that an expensive graphics card no longer guarantees 4K and 60 FPS. According to TechPowerUp tests, in Control Resonant, the GeForce RTX 5090 achieves an average of 48 FPS at 4K resolution, Ultra settings, and ray tracing enabled. The RTX 4090 shows 34.2 FPS, the RTX 5080 – 29.4 FPS, and the Radeon RX 9070 XT – 27.1 FPS.
All results were obtained at native resolution, without image scaling. For stable 60 FPS, DLSS, FSR, or frame generation will likely be required. However, such results do not necessarily indicate optimization problems: maximum settings with ray tracing seriously strain even top-tier graphics cards. Control Resonant already looks like a serious test for hardware.
