Nightdive Studios participated in PC Gaming Show 2026 in September and presented a trailer for the Thief: The Dark Project Remastered project with gameplay footage.
The developers showed various gameplay mechanics: the main character, master thief Garrett, will have to pick locks, hide from guards, use arrows to extinguish light sources, distract or neutralize patrols.
The developers of Thief: The Dark Project Remastered said that this version will feature not only graphical improvements but also refined gameplay:
- Uses Nightdive's proprietary KEX engine
- Will be playable in 4K resolution and 120 FPS
- Will implement gamepad support and add a new weapon selection wheel
- Achievements will appear
- Improved textures, models, animations, and more
- Will introduce «minor fixes» to the original level design
