In September, Assassin's Creed Mirage was cracked again. Previously, the protection was broken by a hacker under the nickname voices38 — he tricked the system, convincing the DRM that the game was licensed. Now, hackers from RUNE have offered a different approach: they removed the protection from the game.
The author of the YouTube channel Kevin's Tech Vids decided to compare two versions — from voices38 and RUNE. The tests were conducted on a PC with 64 GB of RAM and an Intel Core i7 13700k processor, which worked in conjunction with a GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card.
The RUNE version loads faster, has a higher average frame rate, and the minimum FPS with Denuvo was 162, while without it was 186 (a 14% increase). At the same time, the maximum FPS does not differ much: with protection it was 232, and without — 233.
GAMINJA conducted a different performance comparison — they studied the original Assassin's Creed Mirage (with Denuvo and VM Protect) and the cracked RUNE version. The test was conducted on a PC with a GeForce RTX 4070 Super, a RYZEN 5 7600X processor, and 32 GB of RAM.
Judging by the presented footage, there is no significant difference in terms of frame rate, but the RUNE version consumes approximately 1 GB less RAM.
RUNE did not specify which game they plan to crack next.
