Super Rare Games published answers to frequently asked questions and explained why they decided to release a physical edition of Dying Light: The Beast:
We are committed to supporting physical releases on PlayStation 5 regardless of game size [indie or AAA]. In a changing future for physical PlayStation games, we want to do our part to keep physical copies available and offer players a wide selection of must-have titles.
