Several years ago, Electronic Arts released a remake of the survival horror Dead Space, which was developed by Motive studio. Since then, the publisher has introduced several projects, but a remake of the second part never appeared.
However, fans have another way to play Dead Space — recently, players once again turned their attention to a demake of the game, made in the style of projects for the Nokia 3310 Jam 6 phone. This version of the horror was created by developer Davide Puato, who invited players to “experience classic survival horror on a "tiny screen" with mono sound and two colors.”
Outwardly, the game may seem simple (and no wonder — the graphics are minimalistic), but players have access to familiar mechanics: the main character will have to fight necromorphs and solve puzzles. The key gameplay feature of dismemberment is also present in the game.
Davide “puato” Puato distributes the project “Dead Space demake for the Nokia!” for free via itch.io. The game runs on PCs with the Windows operating system. The controls involve “arrow keys” and several hotkeys.
