Tomb Raider Fans Funded the Installation of a Two-Meter Lara Croft Statue in Derby - The City Where the First Part of the Franchise Was Created

An initiative fan of the Tomb Raider franchise managed to attract funding.

Recently, Tomb Raider fans successfully funded the installation of a Lara Croft statue in her hometown of Derby. It was in this city that the developers from Core Design studio, who created the original Tomb Raiders (1996), worked.

Luke Earle organized the fundraising campaign. He explained that this statue was created for the Tomb Raider Experience exhibition in London and was visited by thousands of people between 2021 and 2023. There was a risk that the statue would be lost or end up in a private collection, and Luke wanted to preserve this part of the franchise's history.

As a result, fans donated 30 thousand pounds sterling (about 3.3 million rubles): this money is needed to purchase the two-meter Lara Croft statue, for its restoration, transportation, and installation.

Thanks to this initiative, Lara Croft will become a decoration of Derby. The city council has already approved the initiative, so there should be no problems with the statue's installation.
