Not all parts of the Fable franchise made it to PC. Recently, a user under the nickname whompay shared his work with the community: he is developing a full PC port of Fable II (2008).
The tech enthusiast clarified that the presented video does not show an emulator — the game runs natively on PC. These are the first frames of Fable II running as an executable file (exe) for the Windows operating system:
The Xbox 360 executable was analyzed and recompiled into native PC code, and a special runtime environment ensures the operation of Xbox-specific functions. Xenia emulator is not used.
In this video, whompay only showed a few frames and menus. The PC port of Fable II is still in its "earliest stages" and cannot be fully played yet. Nevertheless, the modder explains, this is already an important technical achievement:
Currently, the game crashes during character creation, but reaching this stage already seems like a huge achievement. I will share updates with you as the work progresses.
A full new Fable is currently in development; you can add the game to your Steam wishlist at the following link. The regular release is scheduled for February 23, 2027, but owners of the Premium Edition will receive digital bonuses and premium early access — they will be able to start playing five days earlier. The game will be available on PC, as well as on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles.
