Climbing Simulator Cairn to Receive Free DLC in October - What Will Be Added

On October 29, 2026, the climbing simulator Cairn will release a free expansion, On the Trail: Deep Water, featuring three new locations.

The first free DLC for Cairn – On the Trail: Deep Water – will be released on October 29, 2026, adding three locations, a new playable character, and a free exploration mode.

The expansion was initially planned for an earlier release, but it was postponed. Now, the developers have confirmed the date at TGS. Deep Water will feature the Haken and Ruka cliffs with overhanging walls above the water: falling into the water will be safe, allowing players to experiment with routes.

The third location will be the new training ground, Lamu. Marco will also be added as a playable character, whose climbing style differs from Aava's.

A free exploration mode will be available for both characters. It will allow players to load saves at the summit, practice specific sections of the route, and search for alternative paths.

The On the Trail: Deep Water expansion will be free. Until September 26, Cairn can be purchased on Steam with a 20% discount.
