Silent Hill: Townfall Experiences Performance Issues Even on PS5 Pro

News 1

Silent Hill: Townfall does not maintain a stable 60 FPS even on PS5 Pro. In the most demanding scenes, the frame rate on Sony's powerful console drops to approximately 42 FPS.

On the base PS5, the game offers two modes: quality runs at 30 FPS and an internal resolution of about 1440p with reconstruction to 4K via TSR, while performance aims for 60 FPS at a resolution of about 1080p with the same reconstruction.

PS5 Pro uses PSSR instead of TSR, and the additional performance allows for improved textures and shadows in both modes. The difference is also noticeable in reflections and global illumination. In performance mode, some post-processing effects, including the fog characteristic of Silent Hill, are cut back.

The main problem remains performance: neither PS5 nor PS5 Pro provides a stable frame rate. The most demanding moments reduce the indicator to approximately 42 FPS even on PS5 Pro. Smoothness issues are also observed on PC, which may indicate general optimization problems with the game.
