Modder Ported GTA IV Intro to GTA V and Showed Cutscene with Ray Tracing

News 0

In September, a modder known as MrVicho13 presented the intro from GTA IV, which he ported to Grand Theft Auto V. The enthusiast noted that he did not use other authors' work, but worked on the project independently:

Everything you saw in this video, I converted myself — I did not use ports made by other people. This applies to Liberty City itself, pedestrians, cars, and environmental objects.

MrVicho13 explained that some areas look too bright due to problems during asset conversion. All pedestrians and vehicles shown in the cutscene work in the game itself.

The modder suggests that this may be the first time a custom cutscene has been fully transferred to Grand Theft Auto V:

This scene should not look like GTA IV, as it is just a cutscene test. The game is running at maximum settings in 1440p + ray tracing is used (GTA V Enhanced Edition).

Additionally, the graphics were improved with the VisualV modification for Enhanced.

It is noteworthy that, formally, MrVicho13's project violates Rockstar Games' modding rules. This month, the studio published an updated version of the rules, which includes the following point:

Do not create modifications that add maps, characters, storylines, game assets, or other forms of intellectual property from one Rockstar Games product to another.
