New Layoffs in the Gaming Industry: Dear Villagers to Lose Most of Its Team

French publisher Dear Villagers has begun staff reductions: out of approximately 20 employees, about 15 people will lose their jobs.

The company, known for 1348 Ex Voto, Caravan SandWitch, and The Forgotten City, is undergoing restructuring due to the difficult situation in the gaming market. In an interview, a representative of the publisher noted that the layoff process is still ongoing, so the final number of dismissed employees is not yet known.

“This is, of course, a difficult decision,” the company stated, emphasizing the contribution of employees and teams to the development of Dear Villagers. According to the publisher, the reorganization should help adapt the business structure to rapid market changes and new economic conditions.

Despite the significant team reduction, Dear Villagers does not intend to cease operations. The company will continue to publish and create games. However, it is not yet known whether the restructuring will affect projects currently in production. The final scale of the changes will be known after the procedure is completed.
