New PS5 Firmware Broke Pulse Elite - Players Complain About Sound Issues

A new PS5 accessories firmware has caused problems with Pulse Elite wireless headphones and the PlayStation Link adapter, leading to connection drops and sound loss for players.

Sony released an update for PS5 accessories without prior announcements. The company did not publish a changelog, and soon after installation, users began reporting widespread failures.

Pulse Elite unexpectedly disconnects from the console, sound disappears in games, and it's impossible to re-establish a stable connection. The cause was a synchronization failure between the headphones and the PS Link adapter connected via USB.

The community has found a temporary solution to the problem. You need to connect Pulse Elite to the console with a USB-C cable, open accessory settings, go to the general section, and select PlayStation Link device support. After that, you need to manually start the adapter firmware update – this resolves the conflict and restores the connection.
