In November, the economy and sports will suffer not only because of GTA VI - for the sake of the new Blizzard game, people have started taking vacations
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles on November 19, 2026. It is obvious that the launch of the new installment of the Rockstar Games franchise will be a massive event.
Some players started preparing for the release in advance, so they coordinated their vacations. Analysts and researchers paid attention to this and decided to estimate the potential damage to the economy: it could potentially reach a billion dollars in the USA.
There is another effect of GTA VI that may not be entirely obvious. Athletes are also fond of video games. Gamers' attention was drawn to the statement of Houston Rockets basketball player Steven Adams. He suggests that the performance of players in professional sports in November may decrease:
I'll tell you what: guys, you have to wait until November. Performance across all leagues — because of the release of GTA VI — will drop.
