Owlcat Games studio has published a diary dedicated to the future of Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. The cRPG developers announced that they have decided to postpone the upcoming Processional of the Damned DLC.
Initially, the DLC was expected to be released by the end of September, but the developers concluded that they would not be able to complete the work within the specified timeframe. Now, the DLC release is expected in December of this year.
The creators of Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader also published a concept for the DLC and revealed some details about Processional of the Damned.
This is a new companion — Stella the Miracle Worker. The developers describe her as a unique creation whose supernatural abilities manifest as purifying flame and righteous foresight.
Stella's main signature ability is called 'Psychic Trace': it is a psychic aura that will spread several cells from the wielder (the stronger the veil is broken, the wider the aura).
Another of her abilities will be 'Psychic Burst' — Stella can unleash spontaneous bursts of psychic energy, paying for it with a small portion of her maximum health.
At the beginning of a battle, Stella's powers usually take the form of Pyromancy, however, this can change during the course of a battle: 'when other psykers use psychic powers belonging to other disciplines near her, her own powers temporarily gravitate towards that discipline'.
The DLC will also introduce the 'Fanatic' archetype, which will offer players a new type of gameplay:
With its appearance, a new melee-based gameplay style will become available, relying on crushing weapons, including exotic ways of using them such as throwing a hammer at enemies, as well as a rich arsenal of area-of-effect abilities and attacks.
Details are promised to be revealed later, but it has already been reported: Stella belongs to this archetype. Her Miracle Worker abilities were specifically designed 'to synergize with the Fanatic's gameplay and its focus on melee combat'.
