The developers of the truck driver simulators Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator have published a new diary dedicated to the new Coaches and Road Trip game modes. In these modes, players will be offered to switch from trucks to buses and ordinary passenger cars.
This time, SCS Software decided to explain how the switching between the regular truck mode “Truck Mode” and the new modes – bus “Coach Mode” in Euro Truck Simulator 2 and car “Car Mode” in American Truck Simulator – will be implemented.
Progress between these modes will be separate, but money will be shared, i.e., players will be able to earn starting capital with trucks to purchase their desired bus or car model. Road exploration and virtual driver fatigue will also be shared.
In the current version of the system, navigation is tied to the mode the player last drove in. Therefore, it will not be possible to plan or change a route immediately after selecting another mode – the new navigation system will activate after starting to drive. The developers noted that this might change in the future.
Players in American Truck Simulator will be able to experience the new gameplay type on September 29. On this day, the Road Trip: Ford expansion will be released – the game mode will become available, as well as various Ford car models.
