Recently, the Mojang Studios team held a Minecraft presentation, during which they talked about a new franchise project, announced the first new dimension in 15 years, and introduced an ice biome and a special type of zombie.
CEO Asha Sharma took the opportunity to reveal some Minecraft metrics. According to her, the cubic sandbox continues to attract a lot of players every day, even after 17 years:
Every day, on average, more than 300,000 people play Minecraft for the first time. After more than 17 years and with over 425 million copies sold, I am delighted that Minecraft continues to find new players and offer long-time fans something new to explore.
Currently, Mojang Studios and Double Eleven are preparing for the release of the Diablo-like Minecraft Dungeons II — the game is set to launch on September 29. Players will have to travel through various locations and fight hordes of mobs.
