After 8 years, Monster Hunter: World gets seamless co-op on PC thanks to a modder

Players received a new option for cooperative hunting.

After the release of Monster Hunter: World, Capcom has already introduced several new installments of the franchise — Monster Hunter: Rise and Wilds — but MHW continues to attract players to this day, and is also supported by the modding community.

Recently, an enthusiast under the nickname huntardy introduced a modification for Monster Hunter: World that adds a full-fledged seamless cooperative game mode to the monster hunting simulator. This means that a group of players stays together during quests, expeditions, and story cutscenes, and they can also spend time together in the city.

huntardy published an example of this modification in action:

huntardy warned players about a technical nuance: each time the game is launched, before the “MHW Seamless Co-op” modification starts, a copy of the save will be created in the “nativePC/plugins/mhw-seamless-coop-backups” folder. The last ten saves will be recorded.

The “MHW Seamless Co-op” modification for Monster Hunter: World is distributed for free via Nexus Mods. After installing the mod and launching the game, an in-game panel will automatically appear in Steam.
