Marvel's Wolverine unexpectedly soared in sales: the game conquers Europe

Marvel's Wolverine had a strong start in several European countries: the game topped sales in France and Germany, and sold 51 thousand copies in Spain, surpassing Ghost of Yotei.

It seemed recently that Marvel’s Wolverine would be one of the few single-player Sony games of recent years that would fail to captivate players and charts. The game received lukewarm reviews from critics and users, although initial sales data suggests otherwise.

In the UK, the project failed to top the charts, losing to Ghost of Yotei. However, in France and Germany, Wolverine became the best-selling game. In Spain, 51 thousand copies of the game were sold in the week from September 14 to 20, compared to 33 thousand for Ghost of Yotei.

Of these, 36,370 copies, or about 70%, were physical versions. Digital sales amounted to 14,945 copies. PS Store DB predicts that by September 30, global sales of Marvel’s Wolverine will reach 3.2 million copies.
