Capcom unexpectedly updated Devil May Cry HD Collection - the compilation now takes up less space and received fixes

The developers decided to return to the slasher compilation.

In late September, PC gamers noticed that Capcom released an update for the slasher compilation Devil May Cry HD Collection.

Capcom published a patch note in the compilation's Steam community — it includes only two points:

  • Confirmed compatibility with Windows 11
  • Various bug fixes (developers did not provide any specific details).

However, this update for Devil May Cry HD Collection also includes an undocumented change: the space occupied by the game on the drive has significantly decreased — from 11.3 GB to approximately 4.5 GB.

Players, like TamePaper24, were very surprised by this: "Storage optimization??? Is this 2013?" Discussion participants recalled that some modern games, like Call of Duty, become greatly inflated, while the creators of the 2018 compilation are concerned with optimizing file size.
