Grand Theft Auto V never officially made it to the Nintendo Switch console, but until recently, players had hope for a fan port. Paralympics Productions was developing ports for Android-based devices, as well as the Switch.
In September, players noticed that Rockstar Games had updated its rules regarding modding. One of the points concerned unofficial ports of the studio's games:
Do not modify our games for the purpose of running them on consoles, hardware devices, or other platforms on which these games have not been officially released by Rockstar Games.
A representative of Paralympics Productions noticed this publication and a few days ago wrote on social media: "Well, try to deal with me, Rockstar. I don't give a **** about it."
It recently became known that Take-Two Interactive's lawyers tried to deal with it — now Paralympics Productions has announced the cessation of its activities:
Paralympics Productions ceases operations on October 3. Thank you to everyone who supported us through difficult times and during the long development. I apologize for not meeting your expectations and leaving you without ports. I am grateful to Take-Two for their mercy, so everything will end at this point.
It seems that the modders do not plan to publish their work in the public domain.
