In late September, Game Informer published an article dedicated to Grand Theft Auto VI. It revealed some details about Rockstar Games' new title.
What many fans had long determined was confirmed: the GTA VI map is approximately twice the size of the GTA V world, and it will also be significantly 'denser' and more detailed.
Clouds will move across the sky, and the weather system has been revamped to be localized. For example, rain might fall in a specific part of the state while the sun shines elsewhere.
After the rain, the surface will remain wet for some time, and a rainbow may form under certain lighting conditions. In addition, thunderstorms, strong winds, and hurricanes will appear.
Activities mentioned include: base jumping, gym, kayaking, mini-golf, billiards, diving, street and off-road racing, the ability to visit zoos, jet ski and airboat riding. It will be possible to use the 'RydeMe' ride-sharing service for fast travel.
NPCs will become more diverse — they will have unique physiques, height, weight, skin tones, hairstyles; elements such as wardrobe and tattoos will depend on culture and residential area.
The fauna will also be diverse: over 170 animal species are expected, including 60 birds and over 30 terrestrial mammals. Pelicans, iguanas, flamingos, various types of sharks, turtles, jellyfish, toads, and armadillos were mentioned.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Nothing has been said about a PC version yet.
