This month, the Mojang Studios team held a special Minecraft Live stream and showcased a new dimension called Sift. As it turns out, this world is already available in the game in some sense — thanks to a modder.
Users noticed a modification for Minecraft by an enthusiast under the nickname Mielon: he added his version of the Sift dimension to the game. It is based on materials demonstrated by the developers of Minecraft Dungeons II (in this action-RPG, enemies emerge from Sift according to the story).
Mielon has published the release trailer for the project:
To enter the Sift dimension, you can use a portal or temporal rifts. In Sift, you will be able to find a new resource called “siftite” and craft weapons and equipment from it.
The modification called “Mielon's The Sift” for Minecraft is distributed via CurseForge. According to the counter, over 50 thousand players have already tried it.
This unofficial version of Sift may differ in content from what Mojang Studios will eventually present. The full update with the new Sift dimension for Minecraft is expected in 2027, with no more precise date yet.
