After the latest Nintendo Switch Online update, dataminers discovered audio materials, animations, videos, and icons related to “gift events” in the code. It is not yet known exactly how the system will work. Subscribers may periodically receive bonuses or items related to individual Nintendo games.
If the feature is launched, it will become another way to increase the value of the subscription, which provides access to online play, communication, classic games, and various bonuses.
Nintendo continues to expand the Switch Online library: subscribers recently received new NES games, and Super Mario Sunshine was added to it on Switch 2.
However, the discovered materials do not yet guarantee the launch of the feature. Their quantity may indicate that Nintendo is indeed experimenting with a gift system.
