The Witcher 3 Remaster received patch 5.00c - the ability to launch the classic version was returned and graphics were updated

Soon after the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remaster, players began to complain about various technical issues. CD Projekt RED reviewed the feedback and started releasing patches.

A hotfix 5.00c for the PC version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remaster was recently introduced — it is already available on Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, and for Xbox Play Anywhere.

The developers stated that they fixed a bug that prevented the classic version of the game (1.32, before the next-gen update) from launching. They also reported that they updated the graphics in Velen and reverted a change that caused significant performance and graphics issues for some players when HairWorks technology was enabled.

List of changes in hotfix 5.00c:

  • Fixed an issue where the game could not be saved or loaded if the path to the 'Documents' folder contained special characters.
  • Fixed an issue where voice acting became noticeably quieter than other in-game sounds after switching between menu tabs.
  • Various visual changes have been made in Velen, including adjustments to the glow effect settings, vegetation lighting, saturation, and path-traced lighting.
  • Fixed an issue where telemetry settings were not saved correctly.
  • Fixed an issue in the GOG version where earned achievements were not displayed in the list.

CD Projekt RED continues to accept player feedback on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt issues — you can report them through the technical support portal.
