The Witcher 3 Remaster received its first patch - CDPR improved the game on consoles to match the PC version

News

Players had many complaints about the updated version of the game. The feedback was heard.

In late September, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released on PC and consoles. Soon, players began to complain on forums and in Steam reviews — they encountered various technical problems. Some problems, such as Geralt turning black and textures, could be solved by a simple driver update.

However, these are not the only problems found in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remaster. Now CD Projekt RED has released the first patch 5.00b on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as a fix for Xbox Play Anywhere on PC.

The current patch notes include only three points — the developers fixed the lighting and also improved the console versions:

  • Fixed a number of lighting issues that made the game look too dark indoors.
  • Made a number of other changes to bring the console versions in line with the PC version of the game.
  • Fixed an issue where DLSS was unavailable in Xbox Play Anywhere on PC.

CD Projekt RED confirmed that the The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remaster will receive a separate hotfix for PC in the future:

We continue to investigate the issues you report through the technical support portal. Thank you for sending us details and logs. We are preparing a hotfix for PC that should address the save game issue.
