In early October, Saber Interactive studio and publisher Focus Entertainment presented the “second anniversary update” for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.

Anniversary Update II includes a new Siege Mode variant, new progression mechanics, weapons, armor elements, and the first two Season Pass Year 3 DLCs. Today's update brings new game modes and progression mechanics, as well as two cosmetic add-ons for Season Pass Year 3 owners and much more.
Players will be offered to explore a new Siege mode with Chaos forces — it will be possible to play as Chaos Space Marines in PvE matches and fight against Tyranids, Cadians, and Loyalist Space Marines in two new Siege sectors on the planet Avarax.
- The Crucible system has appeared — you can choose personal negative effects and 'penance' penalties. By completing tasks, you can unlock new rewards, such as a full set of armor of the Lamenters chapter.
- The arsenal has been expanded — a one-handed hammer is available (for Tactical, Assault, Bulwark, and Techmarine classes)
- Heroic weapons and armor have appeared: three new varieties of Power Axe, Auto Bolt Rifle, and a new one-handed hammer are now available, as well as two new shoulder pads and an iron halo.
In addition, two cosmetic add-ons, Space Wolves Champion Pack and Exorcists, were released. The Season Pass 3 DLC pack went on sale.
