The Skull Knight is an ancient warrior who has been waging an incessant war against the God Hand for over a thousand years. His appearance inspires awe and terror: he looks like a living monument to death. The character is fully encased in massive armor, and his helmet is shaped like a human skull. The shield is adorned with an image of a rose and thorns.
He moves exclusively on a huge black horse, which is protected by sinister armor. By nature, the Skull Knight seems cold, detached, and absolutely dispassionate. He speaks in an elevated style, often uttering grim prophecies and philosophical reflections on the inevitability of fate and the flow of cause-and-effect relationships. Despite his frightening aura, this character possesses a strict code of honor and demonstrates deep compassion for those who try to defy destiny.
He repeatedly saves Guts and Casca in the most hopeless moments, acting as a wise mentor for the Black Swordsman, guiding him on his path of revenge. The Skull Knight's abilities surpass those of any mortal and allow him to fight on equal terms with the strongest demons. He possesses colossal physical strength, incredible speed, and absolute invulnerability to ordinary weapons.
