At the end of September, the remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released on consoles and PC. CD Projekt RED released it as an update, so current owners of the game did not have to pay extra — they just needed to download the update.
However, not everyone managed to get the CD Projekt RED hit into their collection, and for some, the remaster's release prompted a purchase. Analysts from Alinea Analytics noted an increase in the online presence of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt across different platforms:
According to our platform statistics, the DAU [daily active users] of The Witcher 3 remaster reached approximately 2.4 million active users per day on Steam (48.6%), PlayStation (40.4%), and Xbox (11.0%). This is more than 10 times higher than its average DAU for this year.
According to Alinea Analytics, 130 thousand copies of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt were sold on these three platforms (Xbox, PlayStation, Steam) during the first day:
This is the best daily result since the game first dropped to $3.99 on Steam in the summer of 2024. It is currently selling for $24.99 on all three covered platforms.
According to analysts, the total circulation of the game has already exceeded 66 million copies.
This weekend, the peak online concurrent players for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt set a new record — over 123 thousand users.
