Dynasty Warriors Producer No Longer Wants to Make Series Remasters

Dynasty Warriors producer Tomohiko Sho is over 50, and he doesn't want to spend the remaining years of his career recreating what has already been done. Therefore, if the remaster of the third installment proves successful, future re-releases of other parts will likely have to be handled by someone else.

Dynasty Warriors producer Tomohiko Sho would prefer to work on new games and sequels rather than remasters of old installments in the series, although the success of Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered could lead to new re-releases.

Sho has been working on Dynasty Warriors since the second installment, when the series transitioned from one-on-one combat to battles against hundreds of opponents. In an interview, he admitted that he prefers to create new games.

If the Dynasty Warriors 3 remaster sells well, I think the likelihood of remasters for 4 and other installments will increase. I can't say anything now and haven't even thought about it, but remasters of games not available on Steam are quite possible.

However, the producer does not want to be involved in such projects:

Honestly, I don't want to do it. It would be almost a full remake, and even now I sometimes think: why am I recreating something I've already done myself?

I'm over 50, and sometimes I think about how many more games I'll be able to make before retirement, so I prefer new games or sequels. At the same time, I want to respond to the requests of fans who have supported the series.

Creating Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered took several years, so Sho is already considering handing over the next game to someone else, although no decision has been made yet.
