An enthusiast under the nickname Fantastic-Author2736 shared his developments. He is developing a VR mode for Diablo II: Resurrected — it will be possible to go on an adventure with a first-person view.
I made a VR mod for Diablo II: Resurrected: first-person view will be available, true stereo 3D, and your hands are tied to motion controllers. The hero's body turns with you.
The developer also noted that you can move with a stick or “physically” using BodyWalk.
In the description, he noted that his mod is built on the basis of “D2R-3D camera mod” by emmericp and works through FlatVR and BodyWalk.
“D2R-3D” is a modification for Diablo II: Resurrected, which was recently introduced by the aforementioned emmericp. With its help, players can switch to a first-person view (in this mode, the gameplay may resemble a shooter), and also use a third-person view.
Fantastic-Author2736 is not yet ready to publish a playable build, as he needs to finish “a few things” before the full release.
Blizzard Entertainment is currently working on Diablo V.
