Alleged PS6 and Steam Deck 2 spotted in new AMD drivers

New AMD drivers contain designations that may indicate chips for the future PS6 and Steam Deck 2. There is no official confirmation of this connection yet.

In Adrenalin 26.9.2 files, dataminers found several mysterious designations. The entry "ATLite3" attracted particular attention, which, according to insider KeplerL2's analysis, may refer to a GPU for a platform codenamed Orion, associated with a future SoC for the next generation PlayStation. This theory is indirectly supported by the naming scheme: the PS5 GPU previously appeared in AMD documents as Navi10Lite.

Another interesting find was the entry "Gainsborough". It appears repeatedly in AMD files and may denote a platform with an FF6 BGA package. According to one version, this refers to a chip for Steam Deck 2. The current Steam Deck uses the codename Aerith, and the OLED version – Sephiroth, so Gainsborough fits Valve's usual scheme.

The drivers also revealed the designation AT2, which is associated with the RDNA 5 architecture.

For now, these are only circumstantial clues from AMD drivers: they do not confirm the characteristics of future devices, nor the fact that these chips will be used in PS6 or Steam Deck 2.
