Bloodborne meets Resident Evil 4: Black Tides from former Rockstar developer revealed

Black Tides Draga's Wake is a new survival horror game from a former Rockstar Games developer, combining ideas from Bloodborne and Resident Evil 4, and is set to be released in early 2029.

Black Tides Draga’s Wake is being created by the independent studio Strange Creature Factory, founded by Gregory Strangis. The character artist previously worked on major projects for Rockstar Games and Naughty Dog, including GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, and also collaborated with Guillermo del Toro.

Black Tides Draga’s Wake will tell the story of an alternate version of the early 20th century, where strange creatures and dangerous cultists connected to ancient gods have appeared. It is a third-person survival horror game. Strangis himself noted the similarity to Bloodborne:

Of course, I see that some look at the game and notice certain references to Bloodborne in it.

The enemy design is reminiscent of Resident Evil 4: some monsters resemble creatures infected with Las Plagas, and the cultists resemble Ganados. The main character is infected and capable of absorbing bodies, increasing his power, and his arm can transform into a blade.

The game is in early development, and the studio is currently looking for a publisher. The developers aim to create an AAA-level project and do not intend to rush the work at the expense of quality.
