Recently, players once again remembered The Last of Us Part II Remastered. An enthusiast under the nickname MrGuiga announced the release of a modification, the presentation of which managed to impress many members of the gaming community.
MrGuiga showed a full first-person view in The Last of Us Part II Remastered. The resulting alternative camera mode looks very organic — some players expressed the opinion that it looks like an official mode.
MrGuiga explained that this toggleable camera works in both story mode and No Return mode: "press F5 during gameplay to switch between first-person and third-person views." The modder tested it on Steam version v1.6.10721.0105, using a keyboard and mouse for control. He is currently collecting player feedback, and would like to hear from those who play with a gamepad.
The author noted that battles become more difficult when playing in first-person view due to limited visibility, making it harder to navigate the space. And there's a nuance: "The camera is actually tied to the character's head, so the head sways a lot." MrGuiga is trying to find a way to minimize this effect.
The modification "Mr. Guiga's First Person Perspective" for The Last of Us Part II Remastered is distributed for free via Nexus Mods.
