Escape from Tarkov Reworks PMC Bots and Adds Prestige to PvE - Update 1.2.0.0 Released

The creators of Escape from Tarkov have announced the release of update 1.2.0.0. It includes improvements for PvE mode, an expanded prestige system, and technical fixes.

The developers stated that they have reworked the bot interaction logic "to make the world more alive and unpredictable." Now, in PvE raids, there is a higher chance of encountering PMC bots, representatives of different factions can team up, and bot equipment varies depending on their level.

  • The probability that PMCs from USEC and BEAR factions will team up and not be enemies has been significantly increased;
  • With a small chance, PMC bots can remain neutral to a PMC player until the player approaches or attacks them;
  • PMC bots have a reduced chance of being neutral towards Scav bots;
  • PMC bots will more often initiate combat with Scavs and Bosses;
  • PMC bots will not attack Scav players first unless they approach or attack them.
  • Low-level bots pose less threat to the player and use equipment available to players with low trader loyalty.
  • High-level bots are more dangerous, use better weapons, and are equipped with high-level gear.

In addition, the behavior of PMC bots on the location has changed. For example, they will more actively move towards points of interest and quest zones. PMC bots can be found in locations they previously did not visit, and their movement will be less linear and more varied.

The approach to bot spawning has been revised. Now, at the start of a raid, there are always PMC bots on the location: "their number has become more stable, with less variation. PMC bot spawns are more evenly distributed across locations."

The authors of Escape from Tarkov also introduced the Prestige system in PvE Zone. The mechanics are similar to PvP: after fulfilling a number of conditions, players can reset their progress and receive rewards for increasing their "prestige level." Many rewards obtained for Prestige in PvE Zone will remain with the player permanently, but only for the character in PvE Zone.

Unique rewards are also provided for PvE prestige, for example:

  • Unique Army Dog Tags;
  • Unique Shooting Range Targets;
  • Unique Hideout Posters;
  • Unique melee weapons;
  • Unique Tarko figurines;
  • Unique Gamma Secure Container
