GTA VI competitor disappears after scandal: Paradise has been silent for a year and a half

Paradise was supposed to be a free GTA VI competitor with AI-NPCs. After a short playtest a year and a half ago, the developers of Ultra Games disappeared, and the project seems to be abandoned.

Paradise was supposed to be released in April 2025 and use AI to create interactions with NPCs. Ultra Games only managed to release a small playable playtest, after which they stopped reporting on the project.

For a year and a half, the studio has not made a single statement. The Paradise page still exists on Steam and Epic Games Store, although the official game website is closed, the Discord server is practically abandoned, and the Telegram channel has been deleted.

Even during the playtest release, players suspected that Paradise could have been a cover for promoting cryptocurrency. The Epic Games Store still states that players will be able to receive $PAR tokens and spend them on clothes and real estate in the game world.

Now it can be assumed that the project is finally abandoned. However, it is unknown whether the developers really planned a crypto scheme from the beginning or abandoned the game after an extremely negative reaction to the first gameplay.
