Kuro Games studio has added three file packages: SD, HD, and UHD. In the first case, the game without videos takes up about 57.8 GB, HD increases the size to 80 GB, and UHD – to 99 GB.
The SD package contains more compressed videos and lower quality textures. For owners of small drives, this allows saving tens of gigabytes with minimal loss in quality.
Currently, this option is only available in a separate Wuthering Waves client. On Steam, version 3.7 only allows selecting the HD package, and alternative options will appear in about two months with update 3.8.
Such an approach could become a useful solution for the industry: owners of low-end PCs and 1080p monitors often do not need to download textures and videos in maximum quality. A separate lightweight SD package would allow saving space on SSDs.
