Sony again faces the problem of hacked PS5 accounts - not everyone can get their library back

PlayStation players continue to face account hijacking, after which they lose access to purchased games, DLC, saves, and trophies. Blogger and insider RealRadec stated: "This needs to change."

A few days ago, blogger RealRadec, who has over 30 thousand followers on X, had his account hijacked, but he managed to regain access. The author admitted that his fame and connections helped him quickly resolve the issue.

I got my account back. [...] It would be unwise of me not to acknowledge that the matter was resolved as quickly as possible due to the position I hold. Few have such influence, and I fully realize this.
This is a problem that has been brewing at PlayStation for a long time. No one deserves to have their account stolen and be deprived of access to all their games, DLC, saved data, trophies, etc. This is unfair.
This needs to change.

A similar incident previously occurred with blogger Colin Moriarty, who also received help through his connections. According to the described cases, attackers use social engineering and may try to gain access using the PSN name, linked email, and purchase data.

Against the backdrop of growing digital libraries, the problem becomes more serious: account hacking can lead to the loss of a game collection worth thousands of dollars.
