Browser-based Minecraft clone launched inside Elon Musk's social network - it supports multiplayer
Tech enthusiasts continue to surprise.
Recently, Minecraft got an unexpected clone-competitor for players' attention. A project called Tweetcraft appeared on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
This unofficial browser-based Minecraft analog was created by a user under the nickname jaivin. The game is made in embed-format, i.e., it is "embedded" directly into the X social network.
jaivin emphasizes that he did not use content from Minecraft in Tweetcraft (it is protected by copyright) and the project is not associated with Mojang Studios or Microsoft (Xbox Game Studios). Lawyers of these companies have not yet reacted to the launch of the project.
To access Tweetcraft, you need to go to the developer's profile to the post at the following link. The controls are classic: WASD and space for movement and jumping, left mouse button - attack; however, there is a nuance with the camera - you need to hold down the right mouse button to move it. This game implements an inventory and text chat; and it is multiplayer, so you can see other players.
Mojang Studios itself is currently preparing the next big update for Minecraft - there will be ice caves, a new type of zombie, and other improvements. In addition, a full-fledged new dimension called Sift is under development - for now, it can be seen in the recent Minecraft Dungeons II.
