Black Library has announced the novel "Throne Questoris" by author Victoria Hayward, which will allow readers to sit on the Mechanicum Throne – a cybernetic control platform of an ancient war machine embarking on a campaign to defend a dying world.
Though the noble scion Asrien Balathur is but a step away from claiming the throne that is his by birthright, the very land is consumed by mysterious blizzards, and Imperial Knights vanish amidst ruined castles and devastated kingdoms.
Petty squabbles of quarrelsome barons and the pressure of the royal court are no longer Asrien's main concern. Madness rises from the planet's grim past, and only the future king can hope to unite these lands against debts long forgotten.
And this is not the only Warhammer 40,000 novel Black Library unveiled today. The classic novel "Cypher: Lord of the Fallen" by John French will be the next release in the line of illustrated and annotated editions.
Readers will be able to relive the mysterious renegade's escape from Holy Terra with a new introduction from the author and commentary throughout the text, complemented by brand new illustrations that truly recreate the atmosphere of Cypher's flight.
Ben Counter's novel "Grey Knights" also returns to Black Library in a new, suitably adorned special edition. This book is one of the best windows into the daily life of the Grey Knights order and their eternal war against the realm of Chaos.
A mortally wounded demon hunter banishes a powerful demon back into the Warp for a thousand years, but, in the scale of Warhammer 40,000, that's not such a long time. A thousand years have passed, and Gargatuloth has returned to wreak havoc, but he didn't account for one thing – an ambush by the Grey Knights, who knew exactly when and where their prey would appear.
Unfortunately for the Knights of Titan, the demon's return is part of a dangerous prophecy, and their task will be a little more complicated than simply shooting down a wayward heretic. All three books will soon be available for pre-order.
