Not always and not everywhere: PS Store started an unexpected giveaway of a "unique game that captured the hearts of critics and users"
Some players were able to add Journey to their collection.
In October, players noticed another oddity in the PlayStation Store's operation. A free giveaway of the Journey project began in some regions.
Users noticed that Journey Collector’s Edition became available for free. At the same time, in a number of regions, for example, Great Britain, the game is currently sold at a discount. There were no official announcements of the giveaway, so players believe that this is an ordinary bug.
In the store, Journey is described as a “unique game that captured the hearts of critics and users.” Players are invited to cross endless deserts and uncover the secrets of a long-lost civilization.
The Journey Collector’s Edition page is available at the following link. There is no information about the “promotion” on the game's store page. Reportedly, users from Saudi and UAE (Saudi Arabia / United Arab Emirates) can claim the game for their account. Attempts to use the loophole from other regions may result in money being debited from the account.
It is noteworthy that another “giveaway” previously took place in the PlayStation Store. Some users were able to get the shooter Call of Duty: WWII, as well as the open-world action game Mafia III: Definitive Edition — this edition includes all previously released add-ons — into their collection.
