Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Hacked on Release Day

The DLC protection didn't last very long.

The release of Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Expansion recently took place. This is a large premium add-on for the Capcom game that adds new content.

Soon after launch, hackers were able to crack the Dark Arisen Expansion. Capcom has not been using Denuvo for some time, so there were no particular problems with protection — there was only the standard Steam service DRM system.

The Dark Arisen Expansion includes a new location: players are invited to travel to the Fallen Dominion — ruins buried in snow in the far North, as well as explore 12 new dungeons and evaluate additional options for the character editor:

Forge a path into the long-forgotten region of Norgana, where a mysterious ally, Eyr, awaits you. Together with her, you will uncover the truth about the immortal Fallen Dragon. To reach the truth, you will need powerful new skills and weapons hidden in forgotten relics.

The first reviews of Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Expansion on Steam are 'very positive' — an 86% rating after several hundred user reviews.

Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is available not only on PC, but also on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 (PS5), and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
