In late September, the CD Projekt RED remaster was released on PC and consoles. Some players decided to check the company's stock price and noticed growth, but then analysts spoke out and refuted the initial assumption of people who are not immersed in financial markets.
Until recently, market sentiment towards CD Projekt RED was rather pessimistic: many investors expected The Witcher 4 to be released earlier — the news of its launch in 2028 led to a decrease in the value of securities. However, recently the situation has changed: prices are rising, CD Projekt RED shares are actively being bought. However, the increased interest in the shares in this case is not related to the games themselves.
The main catalyst for the growth of CD Projekt RED shares was a movie announcement: Paramount and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura are preparing a film based on Cyberpunk 2077. The growth was slightly more than 4%, trading closed at 263 Polish zlotys per share (about 67 dollars) — the previous close was at 252.50 zlotys.
Next year, a story expansion called Songs of the Past is planned for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Also, a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 is in development, which does not yet have a specific release date.
