Mafia III Definitive Edition received a free update for PS5 and Xbox Series

Owners of the digital and disc versions on PS4 can upgrade to new consoles for free, while on Xbox One, the upgrade is only available to those who purchased the digital edition.

For the tenth anniversary of Mafia III, 2K released Definitive Edition versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with 60 FPS support, improved graphics, and fixes. Owners of certain editions on last-gen consoles will receive a free upgrade.

On PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, lighting, textures, vegetation loading, stability, NPC behavior, car handling, weapons, and the interface have been improved. Most in-game cutscenes now also run at 60 FPS. Cutscenes remain at 30 FPS.

A major update with bug fixes has been released on PC, including those that blocked the completion of individual missions and the epilogue.

The edition includes the main campaign, three story expansions – Faster, Baby!, Stones Unturned, and Sign of the Times, as well as the Family Kick-Back Pack and Judge, Jury & Executioner Weapons Pack.

Owners of the digital or physical version of Mafia III: Definitive Edition on PS4 can upgrade to PS5 for free. For Xbox One, the free upgrade is available to owners of the digital edition, but not the disc version. Saves cannot be transferred from old consoles to new ones.

The game is temporarily on sale with an 80% discount in the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and Steam.
