Machinarium 2 Announced After 17 Years - A Sequel to the Cult Quest

The Czech studio Amanita Design has officially announced Machinarium 2. This is a sequel to the 2009 quest, which fans have been waiting for 17 years.

The events will begin after robots Josef and Berta leave Machinarium and crash in the wasteland. There, they will discover a hidden valley with two settlements whose inhabitants are facing an energy shortage.

The main innovation will be the ability to control both heroes and switch between them at any time. Each robot has its own abilities, and to solve some puzzles, both will have to be used. The game will once again lack conventional dialogues: characters communicate using animated speech bubbles, symbols, and gestures.

The developers will retain the hand-drawn style of the original and the music of Tomáš Dvořák, known as Floex. The sequel will feature controller support.

The game already has a Steam page. The release date has not yet been announced.
