Russia to release "Cartaventura. Cosmology" - a board game about saving Galileo Galilei from the Inquisition

Thanks to the board game "Cartaventura. Cosmology", users from Russia will also be able to travel to Renaissance Italy, receive letters from important characters, and save the scientist Galileo Galilei from the Inquisition.

The Evrikus publishing house announced that it will release a new board game in the "Cartaventura" series, "Cosmology," in Russian, designed for 1–6 players.

This project will transport participants to Italy in 1633 and make them students of Galileo Galilei — a famous scientist whose discoveries have already changed people's understanding of the world.

According to the plot, Galileo reports that his work "Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems" has caused not only great interest but also the wrath of influential opponents. The scientist is summoned to Rome: he is to appear before the Inquisition court on charges of heresy.

It will be up to the players to find the participants of the upcoming trial and convince them to speak in Galileo's defense. However, most of them are initially hostile. To change their minds, players will have to learn about their interests, complete tasks, find the right arguments, and enlist the support of the right people.

In "Cosmology," a new element has been added to the familiar mechanics of the series — correspondence. During the adventure, players will receive letters from people from different parts of Italy and beyond. The messages will help maintain contact with important characters, learn new information, and strengthen relationships with potential allies.

However, it will not be possible to actively correspond with everyone. The number of messages is limited, so players will have to choose whose trust is truly important and who to respond to. One timely sent letter can open a new path, while delay can deprive the player of the support of an influential witness.
