The Star Citizen campaign "Squadron 42" is already playable on Steam and VR, but not for everyone - release window announced

Squadron 42 is slowly moving towards release.

Recently, fans of the ambitious, long-awaited space simulator Star Citizen celebrated a new milestone in the project's history. The Squadron 42 campaign now has a separate page on Steam.

Players noticed a post by Sandi Roberts on social media. She showed that the developers themselves from Cloud Imperium Games are already able to not just play Squadron 42 on PC via Steam, but also launch the game in SteamVR.

According to the Squadron 42 Steam page, the game will not receive Russian localization. Only English voice acting is announced, and text translation will be available in French, Italian, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and a number of other languages.

There is no detailed description of the campaign on the page. The developers noted that the story will unfold “in fighter cockpits, on large ships, space stations, frontier outposts, and on the front lines of a galactic war.”
