After the success of Disco Elysium, players began to look more closely at similar isometric single-player RPGs. Some were attracted to Esoteric Ebb, but for part of the gaming community, the language barrier became an obstacle.
However, this problem will soon be eliminated. In October, the creator of Esoteric Ebb announced work on new localizations — the game will also be translated into Russian. The developer is currently testing important technical changes:
The text system in the backend has been completely updated in the test build. This is exactly what I should have done several years ago, but I didn't have enough time then. Now everything is ready, which means the game can be translated!
Currently, only English and a beta version of the Chinese translation are available in the Esoteric Ebb test build. The developer noted that “official translations into German, Russian, and Brazilian Portuguese are already in the works”:
I would like to add a few more official localizations, but, unfortunately, I cannot announce anything more yet. Creating a localization takes a VERY long time, as there is a lot of text in the game. But, I think you would rather wait and get a high-quality translation than use a quickly assembled crooked one.
